Our commitment to sustainable mobility with bike commuting

The reality of bike commuting in France

In 2021, France already had 2 million bike commuters, representing 3% of the active population. In major cities, one out of five residents chooses cycling as their mode of transportation to work. This growing trend is explained by a combination of demographic, economic, ecological, and social factors. Watch our documentary for more informations.

Clear ecological and economic benefits

Each bike trip contributes significantly to reducing CO2 emissions, with a decrease of around 14% compared to motorized alternatives. This individual action aligns with a collective perspective on combating climate change.

Furthermore, bike commuting offers undeniable economic benefits. In addition to savings on fuel and vehicle maintenance, bike commuters can benefit from a bike mileage allowance, offering up to €200 per year.

The health and well-being benefits

In addition to its ecological and economic benefits, bike commuting offers advantages for mental and physical health. On average, a daily 36-minute bike ride halves the risk of heart disease. Bike commuters, with an average speed of 15 km/h, are also less stressed than motorists.

Strong political and legislative support

Incentive policies, such as the bike mileage allowance, are implemented to encourage the use of bicycles as a mode of transportation. Furthermore, regulations, including speed limits for electric bikes and specific infrastructure for cyclists, ensure safety and respect for road users.
